Students can get help with any computer issues from the Lab assistants located on the Second floor, Mezzaine, or Third floor of the Holland Centennial Commons.

Students may bring files in a number of different file formats. Some of these are: Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx); Microsoft Works (.wps); WordPerfect (.wpd); Open Office's Open Document (.odt); Apple Pages (.pgs); and more. If the software program isn't on the computer, the file will not automatically load. For future use, students should save their files in a Rich Text Format (.rtf) or Adobe reader format (.pdf) for easier use on computers other than their own.
To open a file in Word that has been saved in another file format, perform the following steps:

Scanners are included with the printers/copiers located on each floor of the Holland Centennial Commons.
You must log into the printer/scanner/copiers with your dmail name and password.
Follow the directions located near the printers/copiers or ask for help.
You can scan to your email or to your flash drive. Scanning is free if you don't print it.
To link your computer to Dixie State University's Wifi you must be registered in the current semester's courses.
If you are a current student, click on Red Storm under the wireless connections.
Use your dmail user name and password to connect. It might ask you to enter this twice.
